PIM and product data
PIM and product data management
When you have many products, descriptions, images and attributes become hard to keep in order. A PIM gathers all the data in one place and distributes it to your store and other channels. I help you choose, set up and connect the right solution.
What a PIM is
PIM stands for Product Information Management: software where all product information is collected, corrected and completed, such as names, descriptions, attributes, images and data sheets. From there the data is sent to your site, marketplaces and other channels.
Without a PIM, data lives in spreadsheets, your back-office system and supplier price lists, and every change has to be made several times. With a PIM there is one up-to-date version, with rules that check product records are complete.
Who it is for
- Anyone with a large catalog, with many products or many variants.
- Anyone receiving catalogs from several suppliers in different formats.
- Anyone selling on several channels (site, marketplaces, resellers) who must keep data aligned.
- Anyone wanting more complete, consistent product pages, in several languages too.
What problems it solves
Incomplete or messy product pages
Completeness rules flag what is missing before publishing, so the catalog is consistent and the pages help sell.
Supplier catalogs fixed by hand
I import supplier files in different formats, clean them and transform them to your rules, cutting manual work.
Different data on each channel
One source of data distributed to your site and marketplaces prevents prices, descriptions and images from drifting apart.
Slow translations and updates
Information is managed by language and channel in one place, and updates go out together.
What is included
- Choosing the PIM solution that fits your size and budget
- Catalog structure: attributes, product families, variants
- Import of supplier catalogs and existing files
- Completeness rules and data quality checks
- Management of images, documents and translations
- Connection to your store, back-office system and marketplaces
- Team training and support
Which PIM to choose
There are open-source options, such as Akeneo and Pimcore, and subscription services: the choice depends on catalog size, number of channels, customization needs and budget. Sometimes organizing the data better inside the store itself is enough, with no full PIM.
Before recommending a tool I look at your data and how you work. If you do not need a PIM, I will tell you.
How I work

With you I define attributes, product families and quality rules.
Import and connections
I load the existing data and connect the PIM to your store, back-office system and other channels.
Testing and training
I check the flows on real products and train the people who will use the tool.
Ongoing support
After launch I stay available for new suppliers, channels and improvements.
Frequently asked questions
When do I really need a PIM?
When managing product data by hand takes too much time or causes errors: many products, several suppliers, several channels or several languages. For small catalogs, better data organization in the store may be enough.
Can I use it with my current store?
Usually yes: the main platforms, such as Magento, Shopify, WooCommerce and PrestaShop, can be connected to a PIM. How depends on the platform.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the solution chosen and the import and integration work. I work per project, with a quote defined together, or hourly starting at €60/hour, with discounts for large projects and for long-term collaborations or ongoing support. Quotes are always free and with no obligation.
Does it take long to start?
It depends on how clean the starting data is. Usually we start with one group of products or one supplier and extend step by step.
